Athlete of the Month

Finn has been a Special Olympics Colorado athlete since 2022 and has quickly become involved in a variety of sports, including swimming, bocce, bowling, and now basketball. This year marks his first season playing basketball with the Thomas Jefferson High School Unified Team.

Of all the sports he competes in, swimming is Finn’s favorite. “I feel great,” he says when he’s in the pool.

What Finn loves most about Special Olympics Colorado is the friendships he has made along the way. He enjoys spending time with his teammates and meeting new people at competitions. One of his favorite memories is attending the State Summer Games, where he had the opportunity to connect with athletes from across the state. He’s also made friends with Lizzie the Lizard, the State Summer Games mascot!

When he’s not training or competing, Finn enjoys watching TV, especially Parks and Recreation.

Community Partner of the Month

For the past 10 years, Spectrum has been an amazing partner to Special Olympics Colorado. Their commitment goes far beyond sponsorship. Season after season, they show up with multiple teams, sponsor competitions and events across the state, and champion inclusion at every turn.

Just last week, their dedication shined on the national stage. Spectrum’s Unified volleyball team proudly represented Team Colorado at the 2026 USA Games, earning a bronze medal. They were also honored with the Unified Spirit Award, a testament to their teamwork, sportsmanship and joy throughout the competition.

Because of their dedication, Spectrum has helped raise over $1 million to support our athletes, programs, and mission, an impact that is felt every day.
