Athlete Leadership 101 – Montrose

This course is introductory training designed to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (14+) to build leadership skills beyond the field of play. Participants will learn the basic skills and behaviors of great leaders, then reflect on their own skills and strengths as well as their opportunities for growth. Participants strengthen confidence in public speaking, develop effective communication and teamwork skills, explore goal setting, and gain tools to serve as ambassadors, mentors, and decision-makers within their programs and communities. The session is interactive and centered on helping individuals discover and amplify their leadership voice.

Participants do not need to be registered Special Olympics athletes to attend — all are welcome.
