Colorado Springs Metro Torch Run

Join El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Springs Police Department and surrounding agencies for the “Colorado Springs Metro Torch Run”.
The 4-mile torch run will raise money and support for the athletes and also continue our partnership with Special Olympics and Law Enforcement.
Day of Registration I 9:00-9:30am
Torch Run Begins I 10:00am
The run will begin at Safeway (3275 Colorado Avenue, CO Springs, 80904)
Athletes and Walkers join in (Distance to end .6 miles)
11:00 – S. Tejon Street/W. Colorado Avenue
Ceremony
11:15 – CSPD Chief Vicent Niski – Address (5 minutes)
11:20 – EPSO Commander Joseph Roybal– Address (5 minutes)
11:25 – Mr. Vince Egan – Athlete Address (5 minutes)
Refreshments
11:30 – 12:00

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
LETR is Special Olympics’ largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. Law enforcement (the Guardians of the Flame) and athletes, light the “Flame of Hope” at events and competitions throughout the state to embody unity and inclusiveness.
During the months of May and June, law enforcement throughout Colorado will be carrying the “Flame of Hope” during the 2019 Torch Run Series.
