2020 Fall Season

September 6 - November 14, 2020

Although in person competitions have been modified due to COVID-19, its spirit lives on through our athletes, Unified Partners, coaches and volunteers.

Please join us for a Hybrid Fall Season culminating with the Champions Highlight Show – Fall Season! Our hybrid season allows our teams to practice as long as they complete and follow all of our COVID-19 protocols and guidelines; which can be found in the Fall Season Steps section below.

We will host “Intersquad Competitions” mid-season where you can request award ribbons from your regional manager to host your own competition at one of your practices. We hope this provides a safe way to compete against your friends and peers from across the state.

Continue training with your teams and join us on Saturday, November 14 at 1:00 PM on Facebook Live to celebrate your accomplishments from this hybrid Fall season!

“Special Olympics Colorado is thrilled to offer a Fall Sports season that offers something for everyone, while prioritizing the health and safety of our entire community. While this season may look different than past years, I encourage everyone to join us in whatever way or ways are best for you – be that in-person, at home or a combination. Have a great season!”

– President & CEO, Megan Scremin

Who can compete?

All teams are eligible to compete. Coaches must submit entry forms for their sport being competed in. Please scroll up on this page to find entry forms by sport. We encourage you to try a new sport to get involved as well!

Who am I competing against?

If you are competing in Inter-Squad Scrimmages then you are competing against your teammates. When you submit an entry form for your team for the 2020 Virtual State Fall Classic you are competing against all registered athletes from around the state!

What paperwork is necessary for us to compete?

All athletes must have an updated medical form on file and coaches/Unified partners must have an updated Class A registration.  New athletes need to have an athlete application filled out as well.

ALL participants MUST have a “COVID-19 Participant Risk Form and Code of Conduct” as well as “Sign-In Sheets” from every practice to be eligible to participate in 2020 Virtual State Fall Classic.

Entry forms are required to officially enter into the 2020 Virtual State Fall Classic.

If you need to know an expiration date please contact your Regional Manager

Where can I find COVID-19 updates and general information on competing?

Please visit our Coronavirus webpage for the most up to date information and for all paperwork needed to compete.

How do I submit my results?

Please complete the entry forms and submit them to Susan Foege, sf@specialolympicsco.org by November 7.  Medal winners and celebrations will occur the week of November 9 with a culminating celebration on November 14.

What if our season ends early, can we still submit entry forms?

YES! No matter when you end your Fall season, you can submit entry forms at any time from now until November 7! That way everyone is competing against everyone in the State event.

Will I get an award?

If you compete in the 2020 Virtual State Fall Classic then you receive an award! You can setup an appointment with your Regional Manager to have an awards presentation socially distanced, we can mail your awards to you or you can pickup your awards from your local or State office by appointment only. We are also working on something special for a ceremony so please stay tuned for updates.

I have a general question or I need help? Who can I talk to?

Please contact your regional manager with general question. Susan Foege (sf@specialolympicsco.org), our Director of Competition is also available for your questions.
