YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AVAILABLE POSITIONS
All terms are one year.
Responsibilities: Provide leadership to the Young Professional Board and SOCO Staff to ensure that it functions effectively. Call and facilitate board meetings and work with committee co-leads to ensure that each committee achieves their annual goals.
Responsibilities: Support the Chair with calling and facilitating board meetings, and carry out any miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Chair. The Vice Chair will work in conjunction with the committee co-leads in order to evaluate performance and evaluate success.
Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing the management of the Young Professional Board’s budget, expenses, and annual fundraising progress. The Treasurer should create and maintain monitoring and comparing systems used to ensure fundraising goals are met.
Responsibilities: Perform administrative functions such as scheduling and organizing board meetings, taking minutes at meetings and working with SOCO staff to send out post-event communications.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement a dynamic and responsive plan that enables the Young Professional Board to create and achieve its vision. Determine annual fundraising goals, review the annual mission of the board, and identify resources and strategies to drive the Young Professional Board goals.
Responsibilities: Plan and execute four larger-scale events each year, in addition to smaller, sporadic events throughout the year. Manage “day of event” details and logistics including but not limited to venues, food and beverage, entertainment, ticket sales, decorations, and volunteers.
Coordinate with sponsors and build relationships with vendors. Plan monthly events committee meetings.
Responsibilities: Drive engagement, advocacy, relationship building, and networking within the Young Professional Board and Special Olympic athletes. Plan events that connect members with each other and SOCO athletes, including happy hours and volunteer opportunities.
Responsibilities: Build and manage the Young Professional Board’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant. Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content. Support the outreach and promote all Special Olympic events.
Responsibilities: Actively promote the Special Olympics Board in order to recruit new board members. Provide membership reporting, streamline communication, and perform internal data collection to drive actionable insight. Manage membership lists, attendance, and distribution lists.
