2026 Special Olympics USA Games

The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will bring together more than 4,000+ athletes from all 50 states, Unified Partners, 1,500 coaches and 10,000 volunteers to compete in 19 Olympics-type sports from June 20-26, 2026. Hosted in Minnesota, participants will have the opportunity to experience one of the world’s most cherished sporting events and compete at some of the country’s top athletic facilities.

TEAM COLORADO

For the 2026 USA Games, Team Colorado will compete in 12 sports and consist of 120 delegation members: 82 athletes & Unified Partners, 24 coaches, 3 youth leadership experience participants, 8 support staff, Head of Delegation (HOD) and Assistant Head of Delegation (AHOD) Although we will be competing in different sports, we make up one team – TEAM COLORADO. We will represent Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) proudly and be prepared physically and mentally for competition. Our success will be determined by becoming the best we can be and always striving to reach our maximum potential.

COACH APPLICATION

Are you ready to be a part of something extraordinary? The 2026 USA Games will be held in Minnesota from June 20-26, and we’re looking for passionate, dedicated coaches to join Team Colorado! This is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on SOCO athletes and help them achieve their best on the national stage.

Applications are due by March 24, 2025.

EXPENSES

Special Olympics Colorado will cover the costs for travel, uniforms and all expenses related to the 2026 USA Games Team Colorado experience including training camp (i.e., travel, meals, lodging).

Team Colorado delegates will be required to help fundraise for Team Colorado through some specific fundraising initiatives. More details will be shared once the team is selected.

NOTE: Family members wishing to travel to Minnesota will not be part of the delegation and will be expected to cover their own expenses. Information about the family program (credentials, access to preferred housing, tickets to ceremonies, etc…) will be provided to families of selected athletes.
