Join the Special Olympics Colorado Regional Family Engagement Committees!

Families, are you passionate about supporting Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) families and athletes? Do you want to help create meaningful connections and memorable experiences for families within the Special Olympics Colorado community? If so, we invite you to join one of the Special Olympics Colorado Regional Family Engagement Committees!

These committees, comprised of dedicated family members and care providers, play a crucial role in representing and supporting our athletes across all four regions in Colorado: Denver, Northeast, Southeast, and West.

The Regional Family Engagement Committees will lead and support the following areas:

  • Organize Quarterly Family Engagement Opportunities
  • Provide Regional Feedback
  • Support the Planning of a Family Mentorship Program
  • Host Receptions at State Games and Local Family Gatherings
  • Support Regional Outreach and Connection to New Families

If you are interested in joining one of our Regional Family Engagement Committees, we would love to hear from you! Please complete this short interest form.

Family Resources

Welcome to the Family Resources webpage! Families of our athletes play an important role in the accomplishments and growth of impact in Special Olympics Colorado. Special Olympics Colorado families are volunteers, speakers, coaches, fundraisers and supporters. Families of athletes are first-hand witnesses to the life-changing effects Special Olympics has on their child, sibling, or loved one.

Family Resources Mission Statement

Special Olympics Colorado aims to provide connections within the disability community by providing resources and opportunities for community outreach.

The listed resources have been provided to help our families and athletes find services and opportunities. This list has been vetted to ensure those listed specialize in services and opportunities explicitly for those with IDD and their families. Inclusion on this list does not mean they are endorsed by Special Olympics Colorado. If you have concerns with any of these providers or recommendations for additional providers, please contact Adrian Mora at amora@specialolympicsco.org.
