Physician Assistant at Western Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
A’lanne Conrad, DMSc, PA-C is a Doctor of Medical Science–trained, board-certified Physician Assistant and a nationally recognized leader in physician assistant advocacy, education, and workforce development. She has practiced clinically in orthopedics in Western Colorado for more than a decade. A’lanne has a deep commitment to improving access to high-quality, patient-centered healthcare for rural and underserved communities across the state. Her professional passions include mentoring future PAs, supporting diversity in medicine, and building sustainable healthcare solutions that improve outcomes for all Coloradans.
PA Conrad has proudly served as the Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) Clinical Director for Health Promotion for the past five years. Interacting with SOCO athletes and their families is the highlight of her year, and she is deeply committed to advancing inclusive, accessible health promotion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
She currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Colorado Academy of Physician Associates (CAPA). The same enthusiasm now has her active in multiple leadership roles, including co-chairing the Governmental Affairs Committee. With her experience in advocacy for her profession, she has been instrumental in advancing modern practice laws, regulatory reform, and collaborative care models that strengthen healthcare delivery throughout Colorado.
As an inaugural faculty member of the Colorado Mesa University Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program, PA Conrad is a leader in PA education, mentorship, and professional development. This work includes curriculum design, clinical education tracks, student assessment, and workforce pipeline initiatives. These focus on preparing PAs for practice in rural and resource-limited populations. She has championed the integration of the SOCO Inclusive Health Training into PA education to promote inclusive care principles among future clinicians.
In addition to her professional roles, PA Conrad is an active member of the Junior Service League of Grand Junction, where she has helped raise more than $100,000 in support of Mesa County nonprofit organizations.
Outside of medicine and advocacy, she enjoys exploring Colorado’s great outdoors with her partner, Jon. She also values travel and meaningful connections with people and communities, experiences that continue to shape her commitment to service and inclusive healthcare.
