Dr Jeffrey Krawcek is the president and executive medical director (EMD) for Kaiser Permanente Colorado and the Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG). Dr Krawcek also serves on the leadership team for the KP Medical Foundation. He began his initial 4-year term on July 1, 2021.
Dr. Krawcek believes that achieving success in today’s competitive health care market requires a culture of ongoing learning, where physicians and healthcare teams are empowered to improve patient care and experience through continuous improvement and innovation. He maintains a small clinical practice, allowing for ongoing engagement with healthcare teams and patients.
Dr. Krawcek has been a pediatrician for nearly 25 years. Prior to joining CPMG, he practiced in Madison, WI, where he held multiple operational leadership roles. After moving to Colorado in 2006, he worked as a pediatric hospitalist at 6 hospitals in the Denver metro area. Dr. Krawcek joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008. From 2016-2021, he served as vice president of People and Communications. In that role, he oversaw physician recruitment, compensation, benefits, engagement, professional development, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, and communications. He also served as interim leader for Primary Care and Mental Health & Wellness.
Dr Krawcek has been Board Certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2001. He earned his Master of Business Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Dr Krawcek completed his residency at Childrens Wisconsin, earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and holds a Bachelor of Science with majors in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Krawcek makes mindfulness and outdoor physical activity a part of his daily life. He enjoys spending time with his husband and 2 dogs in the Rocky Mountains and participating in many of the outdoor activities that Colorado offers.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado is one of the state’s largest employers with more than 6,000 nurses, care team members and staff. These health care team members work alongside more than 1,100 CPMG physicians representing all medical specialties and major sub-specialties in the state’s largest multispecialty group. Together they serve the more than 517,000 members of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. CPMG is a founding member of the KP Medical Foundation.
