In her role as President & CEO of Special Olympics Colorado, Megan Scremin is responsible for leading an organization serving more than 20,000 athletes – children and adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), giving them year-round opportunities to train and compete in 21 sports. Special Olympics Colorado also partners with more than 600 schools, reaching 400,000+ students through unified sports and inclusive youth leadership programming.

Scremin’s vision includes reaching more athletes, coaches and families, growing the Unified Sports movement, improving health outcomes for people with ID and empowering athletes to create a more inclusive society for all people.

Megan joined Special Olympics Colorado in 2013 and prior to serving as CEO, spent seven years as the Vice President of Development, where she managed fundraising efforts, volunteer services and athlete leadership programming, leading to a 77% increase in overall revenue.

The New York native earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Kentucky and her Masters of Science in Non-profit Management from Arizona State University.
