Mobile Health Promotion, we will be driving around the Air Force Academy offering build your own salad kits for the first 100 athletes and education around healthy eating, hydration and sun safety.
Health Promotion, a discipline of Special Olympics Healthy Athletes®, focuses on healthy living, healthy lifestyle choices, and nation-specific health issues. In addition to health education activities, health Promotion offers screenings for bone density, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI). Its goals include encouraging and enhancing healthy behaviors and improving self-efficacy and self-advocacy.

Designed to educate and activate athletes and their supporters in the tenets of fitness: nutrition, hydration, and physical activity. These stations directly connect fitness to sports performance, and show how incorporating these tenets can enhance training, performance at the competition, and health.

Golf competition will park at the Aurora Hills Golf Course Parking.
Tennis competition will park at the Cadet Fieldhouse Parking just off Fieldhouse Drive.
Bocce, Cycling and Softball parking on Saturday will be located between the softball fields and the Bocce competition venue.
Softball parking on Sunday will be at Leon Young Sport Complex located off of Alvarado Ave.

Money would be needed for food available from concession stands and food trucks. We will also be selling Special Olympics souvenirs. Money would also be needed for anything off campus.

Awards will be given at each venue after the competitions have been concluded.
Meals will not be provided. Various snacks will be provided for competitors at Hospitality Stations at each venue.
Note: We will do our best to have Gluten Free and Vegetarian options at all snacks but are unable to make guarantees. Should you have dietary restrictions, we would recommend bringing any specific dietary needs or stopping at the grocery store on the way to the competition.

No alcohol is allowed during the competition. There is no smoking allowed including in outdoor venues. This includes cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping.

There will be low sensory located near Olympic Town on Saturday and Softball on Sunday. Sensory areas will be marked by signage and will include sound reducing headphones, wiggle seats, weighted blankets and fidgets.

Volunteering
All tennis volunteers will report to the tennis venue to locate the volunteer check in signs. Volunteers for Bocce, Cycling and Softball will report to volunteer tent located between Softball and Bocce.
Once at your assigned venue, volunteers will receive their volunteer orientation, provided with a safety debriefing, and assigned a volunteer role.

Emergencies and Medical
First Aid/Medical will be available at all competition venues. Please locate the venue director at each venue if in need of medical. They will be rotating from venue to venue. Any attendee in need of assistance is welcome to reach out to a staff member or volunteer who will be wearing identifiable nametags and shirts.
UCHealth Memorial North is the closest hospital.
If there is an emergency, three loud horns will sound. Please STOP, LOOK and LISTEN for Instruction from staff.
Law enforcement and medical will be on-site and ready to support as will SOCO staff.
Emergency procedures will also be posted around the venues.
Non-Competition Events, Family Services, and Other FAQs
- O-Town will be available on Saturday and Sunday
- Healthy Athletes will take place on Saturday and Sunday
- Competition will run all weekend long in various sports.

Family members, looking for a space to take a break from the action and connect with other family members? Come join us at the Family Services table near Olympic Town from 9:30am-10:30am for an opportunity to mix and mingle and enjoy some complimentary donuts and coffee.
Sunday:
Family members, looking for a space to take a break from the action and connect with other family members? Come join us at the Family Services table near Olympic Town for an opportunity to mix and mingle and enjoy some complimentary drinks and snacks. Join us in the morning from 9:30am-10:30am and enjoy some donuts and coffee, and in the afternoon from 1:00pm-2:00pm for some cookies and lemonade.
The main Opening Ceremonies will take place near the Bocce courts at 8:15 AM on Saturday. There will be a brief Opening Ceremonies at Tennis at 8:15 AM. Opening Ceremonies on Sunday will begin at 8:30 AM at Leon Young Sport Complex.
Souvenirs will be located near the Bocce courts on Saturday under the Star Tent. Sunday, souvenirs will be sold near the check-in area.
We will have hydration stations available at each venue. They will include water, education on proper hydration and cooling towels (while supplies last). Outdoor stations will be marked with a feather banner.
Information booths will be available at each venue (marked by a feather banner) and the soccer venue (marked by a feather banner). These tables will be located near hospitality tables.
Any lost and found items will be placed at the information booths marked with a feather banner or tablecloth.
