Position Summary:

Special Olympics Colorado is seeking someone to provide administrative and datbase support to the Sports and Competition Team.

Reports to: Sports and Competition Manager 

Position Responsibilities:

Outreach  

  • Enter athlete and coach rosters into the Games Management System (GMS) prior to the start of each season
  • Update rosters based on scratches received prior to competition within 48 hours of notice
  • Work with Regional Managers to verify missing athlete paperwork report in GMS
  • Following each season, check all competition entries per team in GMS to make sure all information is accurate andmake corrections as needed
  • Enter results into GMS within 3 business days of the competition
  • Inventory souvenirs and charge iPads before and after each competition for souvenir sales
  • Assist with inventory, check-in, check-out process of items in storage unit
  • Pack-up supplies needed prior to competitions, including but not limited to volunteer waivers, volunteer t-shirts,
  • sports equipment, signage and hospitality supplies
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and professional look in office common areas
  • Assist in all departmental projects as needed
  • Support all aspects of competitions, including but not limited to data entry, printing and stuffing athlete/partner nametags, coach packets, etc.
  • Database maintenance to include data entry & maintaining volunteer coach’s information as received
  • Assist in entering athlete applications into GMS as requested
  • Proofread regional newsletters and competition related emails as requested
  • Support Sports and Competition team as needed on all levels
  • Write thank you to sponsors, volunteers, etc. for all areas of the organization
  • Answer phone calls and greet office guests as requested

Position Requirements

  • Maintain positive relationships with volunteers, donors, corporate sponsors, visitors and work associates
  • Experience working in a database such as the Games Management System preferred
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and values of Special Olympics Colorado
  • Ability to perform clerical duties as assigned
  • Ability complete work by designated deadlines
  • Experience in using mail room, postage equipment and other office machinery preferred
  • Ability to project a positive image of the organization
  • Sense of humor
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs
  • Ability to operate a computer for extended periods
  • Applicants will undergo a background check after conditional employment offer
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Experience as a Special Olympics athlete preferred

We are willing to consider candidates outside of Colorado but are unable to provide a relocation package for this position.

Compensation:

The Competition Data Assistant position is a part-time position (80%) with an hourly rate range of $12.85-$17.30. A bonus may be available dependent on organizational performance. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
