Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations

As Safeway’s Senior Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations, Kris manages legislative affairs, media relations, liquor licensing, donations, charitable giving, and fundraising for the Denver Division’s five state operating area. Kris has worked for Safeway since 2006 and during this time has directed consumer legislation, served as the company’s media spokesperson and managed fundraising and donations.

Kris is the board chair of the Colorado Retail Council and holds Board of Director positions with Special Olympics Colorado and the Wyoming Retail Association. She has been honored with the Denver Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Colorado Gold Pick awards, National PRSA Silver Anvil Award, Safeway’s Outstanding Achievement Award, South Metro Denver Chamber – Inspirational Female Leader Award and Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery Award.
