Choose Your Chill During Special Olympics Colorado’s Denver Polar Plunge

PLUNGE into freezing cold water, run a 5k or do both at Wash Park on Sunday, March 6

Denver – Feb. 15, 2022 – Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO), Colorado’s premier sports organization for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID), is thrilled to host its annual Westerra Credit Union Denver Polar Plunge & 5k presented by Ford. Polar Plunge is a cold-weather fundraiser aimed at raising $500,000 statewide to provide critical funding for more than 15,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes.

A Polar Plunge is a unique event where participants jump into a chilly body of water to raise awareness for the inclusion and acceptance of people with ID. Polar Plunge is one of SOCO’s most recognizable fundraisers and provides supporters an easy way to raise funds, connect with athletes and re-engage with their communities, all for a great cause.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Special Olympics Colorado remains committed to health and safety. While the Denver Plunge and 5k will be back in person, strict guidelines persist and we are also pleased to offer a Virtual Polar Plunge where participants may choose to Plunge from the comfort of their own home.
